September 6-8, 2024 Professor Han Feng and Professor Lu Yingmei of the research group led representatives of teachers and students such as Lu Yaping and Shi Yi to Beijing to attend the Joint Congress for the 3rd International Qi-Blood Conference and The 8th Chinese Microcirculation Week. This conference will be held in Beijing, China from September 6th to 8th, 2024. It is jointly organized by the Qi and Blood Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, the Microcirculation Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, the Phlegm and Stasis Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Microcirculation, and the Microcirculation Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology, with the assistance of Tasly Pharmaceutical Group Co., LTD.

The conference is chaired by Professor Han Jingyan, the director of the Microcirculation Center. During the conference, scholars from all over the world exchanged hot topics and the latest research achievements in microcirculation through invited reports, special topic reports, youth special topic reports, and poster displays. This conference provides an international high-level academic platform for professors, scholars, young researchers and students from all over the world to exchange ideas on qi and blood and microcirculation, medicine and pharmacy, as well as the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine.

At this conference, the teachers and students of the research group gave oral presentations and poster displays in English respectively. Among them, Professor Han Feng was invited to give a special report titled "The crosstalk between cerebrovascular and neuronal networks in brain diseases". This report, based on the neurovascular unit, deeply explains the correlation mechanism of intercellular communication and signal transduction in the neurovascular network in brain diseases, providing a theoretical basis for targeting the neurovascular unit signaling pathway as a potential therapeutic approach for brain diseases. Professor Lu Yingmei served as the chairperson of the Symposium 1 (English) -Cerebral Microcirculation 1 and presided over the presentation of the symposium reports.

On the morning of September 7th, In Symposium 1 (English) -Cerebral Microcirculation 1, Shi Yi discussed the regulation of endothelial cell-derived semaphorin 3G by HIF-2α through the Nrp2/PlexinD1 pathway in hypoxic environments The expression and other work were reported.

In the poster display area, Dr. Lu Yeping introduced the relationship between the cognitive dysfunction induced by the chemotherapy drug bortezomib and the autophagy disorder of cerebrovascular endothelial cells, revealing that the abnormal TFEB-STAT3-IL23A signaling in cerebrovascular endothelium plays a key role in the activation of microglia and the disease process of cognitive dysfunction. And had in-depth exchanges with scholars and experts at home and abroad.

At the award ceremony of the conference, Dr. Lu Yaping was awarded the Excellent Poster Award.

This conference not only provided a valuable opportunity for the representatives of teachers and students in the research group to exchange ideas with outstanding experts and scholars at home and abroad, but also offered a stage for young postgraduate students to bravely showcase their academic achievements and broaden their research horizons. In the future, the research group will continue to actively promote the cross-disciplinary development, be courageous in innovation and exploration, and forge ahead with determination, contributing more wisdom and strength to the discovery of disease drug targets and the research and development of innovative drugs.
