Han-Lu Professor Team Attends the 18th National Academic Conference of the Chinese Society for Neuro

      From September 25th to 28th, 2025, faculty and student representatives from the Han-Lu Professor Team at Nanjing Medical University traveled to Xi'an to participate in the 18th National Academic Conference of the Chinese Society for Neuroscience (The 18th Annual Meeting of Chinese Neuroscience Society). The year 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the Chinese Society for Neuroscience. Aligning with national development needs and leading frontier innovation breakthroughs, the Society has achieved remarkable accomplishments in disciplinary development, talent cultivation, international collaboration, science popularization services, and industry-academia integration. This conference invited 433 speakers, featuring 7 plenary lectures, 52 symposia, and 7 special forums. Additionally, 140 exhibitors brought their latest products and technologies. To enhance academic exchange and promote interdisciplinary integration, the team's faculty and students actively participated in this academic conference.


      This year, the Chinese Society for Neuroscience added a symposium titled "Multi-Perspective Analysis of the Pathogenesis Patterns of Brain Disorders". Professor Han Feng, as the convener of this symposium, invited several experts and scholars including Professor Tony Wyss-Coray from Stanford University, Professor Nashat Abumaria from Fudan University, Professor Qi Yu from Zhejiang University, Professor Takuya Sasaki from Tohoku University, and Professor Allan V. Kalueff from Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University to participate. Focusing on various research methods such as genomics, molecular biology, neurobiological engineering, and neural circuits, the symposium revealed the pathological mechanisms of major brain diseases from multiple perspectives. It delivered six outstanding presentations, which attracted a large number of conference attendees, especially young scholars, who engaged in lively discussions surrounding the reports.

      Furthermore, Professor Lu Yingmei delivered an academic report titled "Discovery of plasma biomarkers for Autism Spectrum Disorder" in Session 30: "Neurodevelopmental and Neuropsychiatric Disorders: From Molecular Mechanisms to Therapeutic Strategies". Integrating clinical sample analysis and exploration of pathological molecular mechanisms, the report identified SEMAs secreted by endothelial cells as potential plasma biomarkers, providing a new approach to enhance the accuracy and objectivity of ASD diagnosis.




      The students from the research team also actively participated in academic exchanges, not only communicating with renowned domestic and international experts during the conference but also engaging in in-depth discussions with attending faculty and students at the poster session. Teacher Mao Xingfeng presented work on how different olfactory bulb-cortical neural circuits coordinate cognitive function in Parkinson's disease; Teacher Li Zhengmao introduced research on how endothelial CDK5 deficiency promotes spontaneous epilepsy and memory impairment via Cxcl1/Cxcr2-mediated reactive astrogliosis and decreased synaptic-related proteins; Student Hu Xiao presented work on how striatal CDK5 regulates cholinergic neuron activation and movement disorder-like behavior via BK channels; Student Luo Yiling presented work demonstrating the projection circuit from cerebellar lobules IV/V to the fastigial nucleus and its role in mediating ataxia pathogenesis.

     This conference not only provided a valuable platform for the team's students to exchange ideas and learn from internationally renowned experts but also powerfully inspired them to deeply explore the frontiers of neuroscience. This aims to pool the wisdom of youth to contribute to the discovery of drug targets for major brain diseases and to advance the process of innovative drug development.
